  1. What interests me and what I question the most is, the fact that we are supposed to be a united nation and yet we still have racism, political conflicts (democrats and republicans), and other things of this sort still around today.

  2. I am interested with what is going on today. I want to know about current issues (laws, debates, etc) and how the people in power are dealing with them. Since this year is an election year, I want to learn about the candidates and what they believe. I think that if we know how to choose a candidate now, it will help in 2016 when we can all vote. I value my beliefs and I will stand firm in them no matter what anybody says.

  3. I don't really know much about modern day politics and current government, but I remember a few months ago Congress was trying to pass legislation that would shut down sites like Youtube, Facebook,Tumblr and other Social Networking sites that can share content like pictures, music and other media. I don't have access to most social networking, but I remember when I had access to Youtube, I would use it ALL the time for music and just random videos that I found enjoyable. (For example: Nyancat, The Duck Song, Charlie Bit My Finger, and Puppies For Christmas. All pretty awesome, just saying.) But anyways, back to my point. Even though I don't have access to them, I don't think it's fair to completely diasble sites like Youtube or Facebook just because you can listen to music for free. There's more than just music on Youtube, so that's just not right to shut down all the content. The way I see it,go on Youtube to listen to a song, see if you like it, then go buy it on iTunes so you can listen to it whenever you want. Not only is this more of a legal process, it helps support your favorite artists and bands as well. And I know that because America is becoming somewhat of a lazy country(I still love living here, but I speak from experience~I am VERY lazy outside of school..),it's much easier to just pick up your Smartphone (assuming you have one)and listen to it straight from Youtube. So to make a really long post short, I think that sites like Youtube and Facebook should be kept, and if downloading music from websites like Youtube is SUCH a big issue, maybe just prevent the download links from being placed for music, and just use the site to listen to a song and then go buy it later on iTunes! Seems simple enough, right? :)

  5. In class, I would like to discuss more current issues in government. I don't have a set belief on what I want to be (Democrat or Republican). I would just like to know more of what each side has to say on current issues and make my decision.

  8. I would like to have a better understanding of the differences between modern Conservatives and Liberals as well as the beliefs of Democrats and Republicans. My friends aren't very good at explaining. Also, if we are a democracy lacking a labeled republic, why are our top two political parties named as they are?

  9. In class I would like to discuss more of what is happening today with both political parties in our country. It would be really helpful to me to know more about each political party, because I think that some people make judgements when they arn't fully informed. I think in class we should talk about what ideas make each party unique.
