USA PATRIOT ACT After studying your due process rights and civil liberties--Where do you stand on the USA Patriot Act? Should we give the government more power to investigate possible terrorists.
My stand on the U.S. patriot act is that the act should be kept, but the limitations on citizen’s liberties should be limited. The U.S. patriot act should be kept because you can never know when a tragedy could occur. Better safe than sorry. However, the act should be limited because infringement on citizen’s civil liberties is against the U.S. Constitution and we are not exactly in a time of war to have our liberties suppressed. Every citizen is entitled to equal protection under the constitution when we are not in a time of war. That is why the U.S. patriot should be limited. This is my stand on the U.S. patriot act.
Hi everyone! My name is Mrs. Bertola and I have been teaching at WTHS for 13 years. I am currently teaching AP Government and am excited to continue our classroom discussion on Blogger.com. I live in Illinois with my husband and son--but I am originally from Wisconsin and LOVE all WI sports teams. I went to Lake Forest College and played basketball there. I coached girls b-ball for 10 years but took a break from it after my son's birth.
You will learn a lot more about me as the year goes on!
